Our wedding date was on the 28th of October 2023.
How did you meet?
We met on the dating app Hinge.
How long have you been together?
We have been together for almost 3 years as of 11 April 2024.
How would you describe your wedding in a few words?
I would describe it as classic, timeless, elegant and surrounded by love.
Why did you choose Emu Bottom for your ceremony and reception?
This venue appealed to us because of its stunning outdoor and indoor spaces surrounded by nature. Additionally, we sought a location close to Melbourne CBD so that our guests flying in could easily stay and enjoy the city. We arranged bus transportation for them all!

What was most important to you about your wedding?
Marrying Dharen in the presence of God and loved ones.
Did you have a small or large wedding?
We had 100 guests, who were mainly family.
How did you select your wedding clothes and accessories?
Guidance from Maison Oui, Oui The Label as well as Jeanette Maree.
How did the proposal happen?
At the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, involving both parents.
Where did you get your inspiration for the wedding?
We were inspired by a classic and timeless theme.
Did you write your own vows?
Yes, we wrote our own vows.
What special elements did you incorporate in your wedding ceremony?
We did, we incorporated a Chinese Tea Ceremony.
How did you choose your wedding suppliers?
Selected vendors based on talent and personal connection.
Why did you decide to marry?
Significance in their Christian faith.
What was a standout moment at your wedding?
Dancing under the festoon lights was definitely a highlight moment for us.
Is there anything you would change about your wedding day?
Yes, we wished we added in more cultural elements (Filipino, Indian, Malaysian).
What advice would you give to future couples planning their wedding?
Have a bridal shower the day before.
Complete all your planning early.
Take pre-marriage counselling.

The venue, due to its popularity and limited availability.
What was your budget for the wedding and did you stick to it?
Yes, we stayed within a realistic budget.
What was the most stressful part of the wedding planning process?
IT was definitely the month leading up to the wedding.
Were there any funny moments during the wedding?
Having both of our brothers as MCs created laughter among guests.
Did you both equally plan the wedding together?
We both did equal planning.
Did anything go wrong on the day of your wedding?
Chanel had a mild moment of panic pre-ceremony but overcame it with support and mind management.
What are your hopes for your married life?
To grow together with God at the center.
