Tell us how you started and how long you’ve been in the wedding business?
I discovered my love for photography in high school while taking an art and media course, where I won several awards. It then occurred to me that I found what I wanted to do with my life. (Before then I had plans of becoming a dentist) My first wedding was in 2006, and just two years later, I captured my first destination wedding. Now, with nearly 20 years of experience, I’ve had the honour of documenting love stories in some great locations.

Does your brand have a specific style?
My style is all about capturing genuine moments with an organic, free-flowing approach. I aim to create images that feel vibrant, connective, and rich in emotion—photos that reflect the energy and joy of your day. It’s a balance of thoughtfully curated details and in-the-moment storytelling, blending authenticity with a polished, timeless feel. Whether it’s the quiet anticipation before the ceremony or the unrestrained laughter on the dance floor, my goal is to document your celebration in a way that feels true-to-life and unforgettable.

How many people do you have on your team and who should we expect on the day? If there is no one, do you have a backup plan?
I’ve spent most of my career as a solo photographer, which has shaped my ability to handle large events and capture every important moment with precision and care. My background in concert photography taught me to rely on myself in fast-paced, dynamic settings, and I’m very comfortable covering a full wedding on my own.
That said, in recent years I’ve been building a team to elevate my services and meet the needs of a higher-end market. Depending on your wedding’s size and scope, I typically work with 1-2 additional team members. This includes a dedicated flat-lay designer, whom I’ve personally trained and who travels with me internationally to create beautifully curated details while I focus on capturing the moments of your day. If additional coverage is requested, I also bring a second photographer to provide variety and ensure no moment is missed. For larger wedding weekends, I’ve worked with up to three photographers, including my flat-lay designer, who doubles as an assistant and coordinator. She’s an incredible hype girl and ensures everything runs seamlessly from the photography side of things.
Rest assured, I also have a trusted network of backup photographers whom I can rely on should the unexpected arise. My priority is always to ensure your day is captured with the utmost care and professionalism.

Tell us a bit about your process when booking a wedding from start to finish? What’s included and what’s not?

What info do you require from a couple to best understand their vision and accurately quote on jobs?
To provide an accurate quote and fully understand your vision, I’ll need a few key details:
• Both of your names, contact information, and your preferred way to communicate.
• The event date (if set) and where your celebration will take place.
• Your vision for your event coverage—are you looking for a full wedding weekend (including rehearsal dinner, welcome party, or post-wedding brunch) or just day-of coverage? Most of my weddings average 10-12 hours of photography on the day, but we can discuss if you’d like more or less.
I always recommend a phone consultation to walk through the details together. This helps me get a clear picture of your day and allows me to suggest coverage options that suit your unique celebration.
Additionally, I’d love to hear about your investment range—what are you planning to dedicate toward your wedding photography? This helps me create a custom quote tailored to your needs. If you’re considering an engagement session, let me know if you’d like to keep it local or explore a destination for something extra special.
Every couple is unique, and I’m here to create a personalised experience that reflects your story and vision. If you have social media, please add your handle so I can get a feel for who you are and what you love. The more information you are able to provide the better. This helps me to see if we are aligned so that you have three best images possible.

What does your calendar look like this year and how far in advance are you booked?
My 2025 calendar is currently open as I settle into life here in Australia, and I’m excited to begin booking weddings locally and in the surrounding areas. That said, I intentionally limit myself to just 8 weddings per year to ensure each couple receives a fully tailored and exclusive experience. This allows me to dedicate the time and care needed to make your day unforgettable.

How many weddings have you done over the years?
I have photographed somewhere in the range of 300+ weddings and elopements combined.

Got any hot tips for couples when booking a business like yours?
1. Book Early: Since I only take on 8 weddings a year to provide a tailored experience, my calendar fills up quickly. If you’re interested, don’t wait to secure your date.
2. Schedule a Phone Consultation: A quick chat helps us get to know each other, discuss your vision, and ensure your day is covered exactly the way you want it.
3. Think About Full Weekend Coverage: Many of my couples love having me there for more than just the wedding day. Rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, and post-wedding brunches offer incredible opportunities to capture candid, heartfelt moments with your loved ones.
4. Share Your Vision: The more I know about your wedding day dreams, the better I can customize your coverage. From must-have moments to unique traditions, let me in on all the details that matter to you.
5. Consider an Engagement Session: Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get comfortable working together and create stunning, personal photos in a relaxed setting.
6. Invest in the Details: Beautiful flat lays, meaningful keepsakes, and thoughtful styling make for timeless, curated images that tell the full story of your day. My flat-lay designer is on hand to make sure every detail shines.
7. Trust the Process: I’ve been photographing weddings for nearly 20 years, and I bring a wealth of experience to every celebration. Relax, enjoy the moment, and let me handle the rest—you’re in great hands.

What was your most memorable wedding?
One of the most memorable wedding moments was where I met one of the groom’s best mates. He was an astronaut and had a scheduled flight to the moon! I thought that was pretty fun.

Tell us a bit about the face behind the brand. What do you get up to on a day off and where would we find you?
I’m passionate about volunteer construction and disaster relief—it’s my way of giving back and staying grounded. When I’m not working on a project, you’ll often find me training for half and full marathons. One of my favourite memories? Photographing a wedding in Main Beach and waking up the next morning to run 21k along the coastline. It was the perfect start to the day! Whether I’m helping rebuild communities or chasing new personal bests, I love staying active and finding joy in the little moments.
————
Where do you find your flair and inspiration for the business?
I love, love and I love joy. It’s definitely a love language — JOY. I genuinely adore weddings and can’t wait to hear all about your vision, your plans, and every little detail you’re excited about. Think of me as your go-to gal pal who’s just as thrilled about your big day as you are! I’d say I’m naturally bright and cheerful, and being able to photograph one of the most important days of your life only amplifies that joy. That energy flows through every part of my work, creating images that are full of life and love.

What do you love most about your job and working in the wedding industry?
Like I mentioned earlier, I LOVE my job. From the dress to the ring and the way each couple designs their dream wedding, every detail gets me excited. I always say, “in Kelsey’s dream world,” and the fact that I get to help document your dream? #Lifegoal achieved.
When I first visited Australia, I made it a point to stop at the original Grace Loves Lace store in Burleigh Heads. They’ve been one of my favourite wedding designers since the beginning—they started their line the same year I launched my business. I remember seeing their early designs and feeling so inspired, so visiting their store was a full-circle moment for me. It’s little experiences like that that remind me how much I adore being part of the wedding world.

Finally, Tell us why you’re awesome? What sets your business apart from the rest.
Why am I awesome? Because I genuinely love what I do, and it shows in every part of my work. I’m not just here to take pretty pictures—I’m here to connect with you, cheer you on (hello ENFJ your glorified cheerleader) and document your day in a way that feels true to you. My background in concert coverage taught me how to handle dynamic, fast-paced environments with lots of variable lighting conditions, so I’m comfortable navigating anything your wedding day throws my way, all while capturing those incredible, once-in-a-lifetime moments.
What sets me apart is the care and intention I bring to every couple. I limit myself to just a handful of weddings each year so I can give you my full energy and attention. I am a huge proponent for self-care and not burning out so I’ve also built a small team to ensure no detail is overlooked. My flat-lay designer creates stunning curated shots, and if you want extra coverage, I bring on second photographers to capture every angle.
But at the heart of it all? I’m your biggest hype girl and storyteller, here to celebrate your love and create images that are vibrant, genuine, and incredibly amazing!
